A couple weeks ago a picked up these two new products and I really love them so I knew I needed to share. I am not a makeup girl. Actually, the sight of Kim Kardashian with piles of makeup on gives me the biggest urge to wash my face. I like easy makeup. If it takes longer than 5-10 minutes to be “done” or several different brushes, sponges, etc., I’m over it. Both of these products are super easy to apply and they seem like they will last forever…neither had a big price tag either.
1. Laura Mercier – Eye Basics, $24: This is a 2-in-1 product. It serves as a eyeshadow primer and a base color. All you do is take the wand a put a dot on each eyelid and then rub it in with your finger. Totally easy and really gives your eyelids a good base color. It also makes the other eyeshadow colors you layer on top look more bold. I bought this in “linen” which as you can see in the picture above is a light ivory color…makes for a great base but I think it does need other shadow on top. I am definitely going to go back and get another color that could be used during the daytime by itself.
2. Diorskin Nude – Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer, $28: I went into Neiman’s asking for a concealer that didn’t need a brush to apply, would brighten my eyes, and would cover moderate dark circles, I was pointed to this product. You literally only need a dot under each eye and works so well. I can tell this product will last me for months. I bought it in “ivory” which I think is actually a bit too light for me right now, but it will be fine for my winter skin. I also like that it’s almost like moisturizer when I put it on…which will be nice during the dry months. I do not have horrible dark circles (other than on bad allergy days) so if you are looking for significant coverage this product is probably not for you.
PS: I know most of my readers probably don’t care about football. Just in case you do, the Longhorns lost this weekend (see previous post). Actually, we’ve lost 2 in a row now and have fallen out of the Top 25 for the first time in 10 years. It’s all very sad but we will be back. Texas Fight!
