HIP LIP is not intended to be local or regional but sometimes the best can be found right in my own backyard. This post comes from my #1 contributor, my Mom – reporting from Dallas, TX. Introducing Duo:
I went to a preview party for a new venue in Dallas called Duo. Duo is the creation of Lynae Fearing and Tracy Rathbun who also own and manage Shinsei – a restaurant creation featuring Pan Asian cuisine. Tracy and Lynae are also the wives of Dallas’ iconic chefs – Dean Fearing and Kent Rathbun. So great food runs in the family. Duo is “All Things Culinary” they not only feature lovely table settings, Fearing and Rathbun products, but also feature a space that is stylish and comfortable – created just for parties. Either a luncheon with the girls or a corporate cooking class for entertainment and networking. The possibilities are endless. I was introduced to Duo through my dear friend Lea Anne Laughlin who is managing sales and is an all around totally connected woman who knows a thing or two about dining, cuisine and Dallas. I was treated to a cooking demonstration by Chef Fearing and a lovely evening with lite bites and wine. Duo is located on Inwood Blvd, south of Lovers Lane and just a couple of steps away from Shinsei. Duo looks like the type of venue you would see in Chicago, New York or LA. A cool, hip place that is just waiting for a party.
Thanks for taking us along and the iPhone photos! After hearing my Mom’s rave review it hit me…this place should be the new hot spot in Dallas to host rehearsal dinners. They do everything in-house, including the floral. As a recent Dallas bride, I can definitely appreciate a one stop shop for a fabulous rehearsal dinner. I have a feeling “if these walls could talk” is going to take on a Texas sized meaning in this space. Just imagine the stories that will be told over countless dinner parties and events. Cheers to Duo!
